a fresh new start...

i absolutely LOVE new years because that's exactly how i see it.  a brand new year.  a fresh new start.  you get another year to conquer the things you failed to do last year.  you can go into the year with a brand new attitude.  screw last year.  who cares about your failures and short comings of 2010!  time to examine the person in the mirror and make changes...for the better!

i like going into the new year focusing on the things i am thankful for...things i do not deserve but because of God's grace {His unmerited favor} i have.

...my wonderful husband} we got married so young.  we have beat the odds that were against us.  sure we have our issues and arguments but in the end, i love him and he loves me.  i have learned through the years that he is not the person that needs to validate me.  i need to love and care about myself in order for him to love and care about me.  if i have no self respect or am insecure, that makes him insecure about me.  you have to love yourself before you can expect others to love you.  have God first and foremost in your marriage.  without God i don't know how married couples survive.  He is going to be the glue that keeps you together, just turn to Him for all things.  Tim is wonderful.  i love him dearly and thank God that He put him in my life.

...my beautiful daughter} sure she can yap my ears off and get sassy...but i sure do love my Haylee.  she is the most caring and kind hearted child i know.  i pray for her daily that she becomes a little woman of God. she is also a great big sister to her baby brother!  i'm so glad we waited 8 yrs in between, i could not imagine myself having two really young at the same time.

...my baby boy}  he is just the icing on my cake, i have always wanted a son and so glad God decided to grace us with Aiden's presence.  he is night and day different from his sister {some good and bad to that, ha ha!}.  he adores his big sister and is a little snuggle bug and loves to be close to his mommy!  he's a little nursing machine and he has a little baby linebacker body....hee hee.  love my boy.  God is good.

i am thankful for many other things like friends and family and my health and freedom of worship.  my salvation and God's love.  so very thankful.  too many things to blog about, but those are the first three things that come to mind.  when i start to focus on the negative i just can't help but think about the positive in my life and smile and say a little prayer thanking God for my blessings.  :)

that being said...moving forward there are so many things i would like to work on this year!  first and foremost i would like to start some routine getting my LIFE in order.  it's tough with a newborn and an 8 yr old and working full time and trying to juggle a photography business and somewhere in the mix i'm also a wife who tries to cook dinner {failing most nights, but thankful for a husband that picks up my slack}.  i would like to worry LESS.  pray MORE.  not dwell on other people's lives {facebook doesn't help with that, so trying not to live my life on there anymore...i have too many other things to think about...}.  i always want to read the Bible through the year but that never works, so maybe at least read a couple of verses a day out of the Bible while i am nursing the baby and pray for one family that i know of everyday.

i am going to start P90X with Tim and i AM going to lose weight and eat healthier, drink more water, stay away from a bunch of starch, sugar and alcohol.  i'm going to get fit!  that is a life time goal, but now that i have had my babies i can really start focusing on getting ME in order so that i am around a very very long time to LIVE to see my babies grow.  :)

i have big dreams/goals for Lissarie photography too but i'd like to keep those to myself for now.  praying for this area of my life, i know it's what God made me to do {photography and motherhood} so praying His will in this area of my life.

i am going to think positively from now on, starting today, 1/1/11!  i'm usually a positive person, but lately i've just been dwelling on the negative.  so much negative around me right now...but i have to be that light, if for no one else but myself, my kids and my husband.  that little ball of fire and energy and positivity!  i just KNOW God has GREAT things in store for us for 2011.  i just have faith that He does.  2010 brought some great things for us...including my hubby's business and our son.

happy 2011 everyone, may God bless you all this year!
