Letter
So I was looking through our personal safe today for something Tim needed and I found a letter I wrote to Haylee on her very 1st birthday! I didn't seal the letter, so I opened it and then read it and I BAWLED. I got to thinking that my baby is really growing up (again) and I'm very happy that she's learning all these new things and coming into this little PERSON and showing us who she really is. At the same time I feel sad that she's growing up too fast. I know I talk about it a lot, but it's really a bittersweet thing. I love that she used to depend on ME for everything, now that she's 5 yrs old it's less and less.
Anyway...here's the letter I wrote to Haylee on her 1st birthday:
" Dear Haylee,
Today you are one! I just can't believe how fast this year has gone by. Everyday you grow a little more & learn something new!! You are such a smart baby.
Everywhere we go, you are the social butterfly too! You make everyone smile & you have this energy that draws people to you. And of course you are always complimented on how beautiful you are.

How's it look?
I was itching for a change...do you like it? I'm so funny and cannot leave it the same for too long. If I had bigger muscles and more space, I'd rearrange my furniture once a week...that's just ME. Ask Tim, he thinks I'm crazy. ;o)

Today is Tim's DAD's birthday! Happy birthday Dad!! We love you! His dad is great, I love him lots. I'm so very thankful to have the BEST in-laws in the whole wide WORLD. They truly are wonderful. Especially my Mommy Sue because she's just a great Mom and Grammy to ALL of "her" kids (everyone is her kid in her mind!).
Anyway...today at Tim's work (he works with his Dad, and brother Mark works there too) they had a little celebration with cake and ping pong...although I do have to say that ping pong is an everyday event at his office.
Tim, Haylee and I got Dad an expensive ping pong paddle - it's the best they make as far as paddles go, a ping pong paddle cover (who knew these existed?) and to top it off, one of those white terry sweat bands for your head. Ohhhhh Daddy is STYLIN' now! I must say he looks pretty good in these pics! ;o)

Good vs. Bad
Let's talk about the GOOD first...
1. I had a WONDERFUL lunch today at a WONDERFUL place (El Cholo) with WONDERFUL friends. I had SUCH a WONDERFUL time you guys...thank you ALL who came! Fun times!
2. My sweet little girl. Tonight as I was reading her bed time Bible stories she first asked me if Jesus has big hair. I told her that I didn't know, but we will find out one day when we get to Heaven. She then says, "Mommy, I want to go to Heaven". I then told her if she has Jesus as her BEST friend and if she's asked Him into her heart then she will go to Heaven one day. It is so hard to believe that at this young and tender age she could actually accept Christ as her Saviour. I truly think she knows what she's talking about. She told me tonight that she wants to give God a big hug and a kiss. :o) She's my inspiration.
3. It was a pretty laid back day at work. We laughed SO much today and cracked up. One of the girls I work with is just hilarious. It feels so good to smile and laugh and LOVE the place I work. (yes, I said I love my job)
4. My wonderful hubby. He called me as I was dropping his coat off at the dry cleaners and said, "I have an idea let's order in pizza for dinner." - great! So double plus, I didn't have to cook dinner. ;o)
5. My friend, Cheryl Jones (Mindy's mom) had her surgery today to remove cancerous nodules and the dr's believe they captured all of it! They tested a lymph node and it was NEGATIVE for cancer!! PRAISE THE LORD. God is good people...all the time.
Ok...now for the not-so-good (bad)...
1. Tomorrow's only Wednesday, LOL. (glass half full would say it's half way done)
2. Mine and Haylee's allergies are at an all time HIGH right now, and my head it pounding so hard, it hurts to look at the monitor right now (the things I do for my fair weather blog readers...hee hee hee).
3. Oh rats. Yes I said RATS. Our neighborhood has them and it's the most disgusting thing ever. They live in the trees. They poop on our balconies. I've talked to my neighbors and they all have seen them too. I called my sweet landlord and she said she'd call the association and supposedly they have set bait traps somewhere, but no one sees them. Uggghewwwwukkk. Rats and snakes are just too much for me to handle - I have a phobia. Seriously.

Welcome to my crazy life
I have been SO out of it recently! Just everything going on (nothing bad) and new things...Haylee turning 5...starting Kindergarten next week...my job...future decisions we are contemplating. Everything is whirling by and it just seems like I'm not catching up! I think I need a girls' SPA day or something....ahahahaha! No, seriously. :o)
Somehow at Disneyland the other day I twisted my neck in a weird way and now it's VERY sore. I can't turn it without wincing. It hurts. I've been taking Motrin every night for it...and if you know me you know I don't usually take medications (not even Motrin). Not because I'm anti-meds, just because it seems that everything OVER works with me, my body is very sensitive to meds - even allergy meds, they ALL make me sleepy (even non-drowsy).
Anyway...today I found the only puddle of water on the floor at Target and twisted my ankle a little, it hurt when I did it and I almost landed on my face. :o( I actually cried a little, LOL. But man...I'm clumsy! I also walked right out the front door of Target (right in front of the security guard) with a cart full of merchandise unpaid! I thought Tim had already paid for it and I was waiting for him to get out of the restroom and I was standing right outside! HA HA HA! That security guard should get a new career path. ;o) Am I right? Hee hee!! I was a little embarrassed, and hopefully I won't end up on the Target "Wanted" wall with my face on the front. I'm so crazy at times....geez.
Other than that our weekend has been pretty uneventful. We cleaned and shopped, swam and drove around. It was hot and muggy on Saturday and this morning it drizzled a little! I was SO hoping it would RAIN! There was a little display of thunder and lightening after church this morning, but no rain. I wish it would just pour for a week straight. It's SOOOO dry here. My allergies are really NOT loving this weather. :o)
We had a really good sermon today about relationships and how you view your spouse in a relationship is how well you connect with God himself. It was VERY interesting. It makes me rethink of getting angry at Tim at times. ;o) Sometimes, when I am so tired, I can get so mean. Really, I am human in every way. It was also interesting to hear what drives people in certain areas...as we had a guest pastor from Washington DC (our pastor lived there and he was preaching at their church while one of their pastors came out here to preach to us). He said in DC everyone is POWER driven (he who has the most 'power' wins). He said the California driven force is IMAGE. It made me sad a little. It is oh so true. I actually teared up a little because even though I TRY not to let this get to me, it does. It really does. I am SO persistent about WHERE we live in California and my taste in material things just seems really high and snooty at times. The very thing I hate in others is what I see in me when I flip the mirror and take a deeper look. It's not pretty and it's NOT how I want my daughter to be raised or taught. It's just not.
There is so much more to life than WHERE you live and how nice your things are. Believe me, I like having nice things and living in a nice neighborhood. There is nothing wrong with liking to have these things. It's when the IMAGE ruins your vision of things standing right in front of you - things God's putting in your face for you to see - when you surpass those things, that is when it's wrong. I felt like lately God has tried to show me a few things, maybe a different neighborhood to look for houses in - somewhere I never even thought to look because of this image I had in my head of this place. Well anyway...it opened my eyes, just by that one statement he made. There's more to life than THINGS. We need to learn how to live life to it's fullest and do things we'd never think of having the courage to do -- of course this messaged really opened my heart to a lot of things, things God was putting in front of me for awhile. :o)
I love it when He talks to me that way. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my church and the God centered pastors and God centered PEOPLE there. It's a big church but I've somehow inched my way in and I feel so connected to people there and I can totally feel God's presence. It is something you cannot explain in full words and something like I've never experienced before. Until you've felt it, you will not know what I mean. I just love it. I meet my Jesus there.
I need one BIG prayer request -- I need prayer for the special lady in my life who has cancer and she's having a surgery to get some lumps removed this upcoming week. She comments on my blog almost every single time and you may not know her, but God does. And believe me when I say she is an incredible God fearing, Jesus driven tremendously SWEET lady. She constantly GIVES and gives with her full heart, truly selfless and TRUE. I love ya Mrs. Jones. I am praying for you always and my friend...your daughter Mindy. Love you guys.

Yes! Clothes!
When I do shopping, it's usually for Haylee! In fact we've been doing A LOT of it just for Haylee lately...her birthday...early Christmas shopping...school clothes & supplies. Well today Tim and I decided to do a little clothes shopping for US. :o) We are going to New York in November and I keep thinking of how cool it's going to be. Cool literally and cool as in FUN cool. I had only ONE pair of jeans until today! I love shopping too, I didn't used to like it much but I like it when I can get a bargain. I don't like spending full price for things if I don't need to. It's just how I've always been (maybe growing up in a thrifty home!! LOL! I love it!). I found some CUTE American Eagle jeans (my fav store to shop at!) in my size for $19.99, then I remembered I had an old gift card from AE which had $4 on it...so I got a brand new AE pair of jeans for $16! That's really good...LOL. I am so excited about that still (apparently since I'm blogging about it).
Then we found this store called Heritage 1981...which stood true to it's name, A LOT of 80's style clothes there. I am not too fond of the 80's style, I mean it was GREAT back then the first time...but not so neat this time around. :o) But I DID find a cute hooded sweater from that store that I got. Then we went to Kohl's, which I love. I always find good deals there. I did OK there...got another pair of jeans, a couple of tank tops on sale (I like to layer) and a cardigan. One of the tanks I got was $2. I was thrilled about that one. ;o)
Anyway I spent maybe $75 and got two pairs of jeans, a cardigan, a hooded sweater, and three tanks. :o) Wow right?!
It was a great weekend -- we went swimming when we were done shopping. Haylee is getting so much better in the pool and I'm really proud of her. I think I've learned how to get her to do things without trying to force her. (which never works when I do it) She's now dunking her head and discovered she can touch the bottom of the pool with her feet while holding onto the side of the pool. So - she's excited and I am too. She's just holding onto one hand now while kicking and moving her other hand. I think she is VERY close to learning how to swim on her own!! I'm very happy about this. I took some pics of her today at the pool...I'll post on her blog later. :o)

Childlike faith
I just wanted to share something Haylee said the other day. She likes to talk about Jesus a lot and I know it's because we try to incorporate HIM into every daily thing. If she has an attitude, I would say "You know Jesus doesn't like it when you're so grumpy to Mommy." That usually makes her perk back up. But, I don't do it to make her perk back up. I want my child to have a happy heart, always remembering and talking about Jesus. I can tell that even at this age she loves Him so much and she's eager to learn more about Him at church and when we read her Preschool Bible together. I LOVE this because when she was only a few months old we dedicated her to the Lord, for HIS use in her life. I pray everyday God molds her into a beautiful Christian lady, someone to inspire the world and be something huge one day. I have a feeling she's WELL on her way.
Back to the something I want to share. I was touched again and I know it was God talking to me personally. First of all let me say that when I got saved at 9 years old, when I asked Jesus into my heart I felt this tickle in my heart. It wasn't something physical, but more like a flutter, sort of like when you have the feeling of butterflies in your stomach. Even to this day when God touches me through worship at church or through a sermon I feel this tickle. It may sound silly to you...but it's very real to me and I take it as God acknowledging me. :o) Anyway...the other day on the way home from work and picking up Haylee she was talking about how God loves us. :o) Then she says, I want to give him a BIG hug and a kiss! And I told her, well I'm sure He'd love that, LOL. Then she says, "Oh Mommy, God just tickled my heart". Isn't that funny?! I said, that's God listening to you. :o)
I wasn't going to blog that story, but this God's minute made me think of it this morning....on the BIRTHDAY of my baby girl - Haylee Gabrielle. I love her SO much it hurts. She means the world to me and I want to be JUST like her someday....may we ALL have childlike faith.
AND HE TOOK THE CHILDREN IN HIS ARMS, PUT HIS HANDS
ON THEM AND BLESSED THEM.

Busy Busy
If you don't hear from me until Friday...don't worry. :o) Today I am going to be busy once I get home. Haylee has vocal lessons tonight after work/YMCA, then we're going to go home and clean house (it's been neglected once again...but at least we're having fun, LOL), then bake Haylee's birthday cake together!! I maybe post pictures of her cake tonight...we shall see. ;o)
We have to be up at Downtown Disney at 9AM sharp tomorrow so that Haylee can get a makeover at Club Libby Lu. I called and they didn't have any open appointments (weird for being a Thursday right?!) but they said I could walk her in! Ok?! So we want to be there first thing to ensure she gets what she's been talking about for months and months!! Then off to Disneyland all day. Around 6PM or so we have to haul it back home for our first soccer meeting. We get to meet the coach, talk about the game times, possibly get her uniform, etc. Fun! But a BUSY day!!

I'm not perfect
Did you know that?! :o) Well the things I do each day remind me of this. Take last night for instance. I was so embarrassed and upset with Haylee at the pool because she was being rebellious. Kicking and screaming at me in front of all those people. I think I let the anger get to me before I could cool down. She got spanked in the bathroom. But did I spank out of LOVE or anger? I am pretty sure it was anger. I feel really guilty this morning and I know I shouldn't, but, I do. I don't KNOW if I'm such a great mom. I know I say that a lot and it's not because I need YOUR reassurance (it's welcomed, but I truly don't need it). It's just because sometimes I feel like I fail at things. Patience is something I have less of these days.
Other moms seem to just grab control of the situation and resolve it in seconds. But for some reason I'm not one of those moms. I get so sick and tired of those moms that try to sugar coat things and barter witht their child. I TRY not to do that (I do at times too though because you see most of the time what you see and dislike in others is something you struggle with as well).

Family Photo & a great service!
Today was a wonderful day at church! We actually took communion today. :o) The worship was awesome. I just love it when we sing and it just flows. It's an awesome feeling!! Haylee LOVES her little class too. I guess she gets to stay in there when she's 5 too because they changed it to 4 & 5 year olds (and they have two rooms for them, there are so many). She comes home singing cute little songs about Jesus and how He's in her heart. It's just so awesome to see God working in my little 4 (almost 5) year old -- isn't it awesome how God can do that???!
Our sermon today was from the book of Leviticus. It was chapter 15 where it talks about how the nation would take an animal (such as a sheep or goat) and cast ALL of their sins onto this animal. Then one man would take the animal and tie a red sash on him and walk the animal out of the town. They would also tie a red sash on the temple. It was said once the animal was no where to be found (carrying the sins of all man) then the sash would turn to white. This is amazing, how they would do these rituals back then. I can just imagine all of the animal blood shed upon the altars and how crazy it would've looked (to us, back then it was just how they did it). They even brought in a GOAT to church and the pastor demonstrated how everyone in the ritual would cast their sins on the head of the goat and we all stood up as the goat walked down the center isle and left the building.
How amazing the symbolism. Jesus is OUR goat. (So to speak) He was slain on the cross and shed HIS blood so that we may have eternal life with HIM. He is the holiest of holy and He is the only one worthy of our praise. Who else in your life do you know would die for YOU and cleanse all of the wrong and bad things you've ever done in your life? There is no one! How AWESOME Jesus turns our red sash white....He is the only one that you can CAST your sins upon and cleanse you of all unrighteousness. I was really touched by this message. In this day and age we forget sometimes. May we NEVER forget that Jesus loves us. He loves us so very very much. Thank you Lord! :o))
Now...onto our "family photo". Someone sent this to me and I had a BLAST making me, Tim and Haylee look like a Simpson. ;o) I didn't get to watch the Simpon's much growing up. I do every once in awhile now...but even if you don't watch it, this is hilarious!

Laid back day
Today was nice. I woke up at 7AM to Haylee stomping up the stairs (I think it's virtually impossible for a 4 yr old to walk lightly). She came over to my side of the bed and said "Mommy....High school musical twooooo....". That's all she said. She remembered me saying that Daddy taped it for her the night before. :o) So smart! So I prepared her a snuggle spot on the couch and put on the movie and I went back to bed! I woke up at 9AM because Tim said he was going to get Krispy Kreme donuts (ohhh yum!!).
While he was gone I started doing a task that was WAY overdue. Cleaning my bedroom. It really gets neglected because it's the loft upstairs and NO one goes in it except Tim and I (well Haylee too). I had yards and YARDS of fabric from one of my old jobs that needed sorting and I colored coded and put them into gallon sized baggies under the bed. I dusted, sorted clothes, cleaned out our drawers and I have a bag to give to Goodwill of clothes. :o) It took me SO long to do everything, the room was gross. Just junky...not gross messy. Know what I mean?!
Anyway later on that day we ran errands. I got this CUTTTTTE pea coat - it looks cuter in person, and especially ON Haylee. It's corduroy brown and the inside has little pink and brown flowers that accent it perfectly - the sleeves fold up (doesn't show in the picture below though). I think I may have to take a pic of Haylee IN it for you to see the cuteness of it all. ;o) Here it is (just for you Cheryl!! hee hee):
I think it's adorable! Usually I wouldn't get something so "warm" because it really doesn't get that cold here in California. :o) But for those of you who didn't know....Tim, Haylee and I are going to NY in November (for Thanksgiving week). My birthday is also that week on the 20th. Tim has made reservations for us all to eat at one of Chef Gordon Ramsey's restaurants! He is the chef in the show Hell's Kitchen. Anyway I have a whole schedule planned out for us and things to do and see. It's going to be great. We have never been to New York (at least Haylee and I have not been). All of our family are doing different things anyway so we thought that would be a great time, being Haylee has the whole week off of school also. :o)

Great day!
First of all we got to wear JEANS to work today! Hello! After my "high heels" post I was estatic to find this out! And guess what I wore w/my jeans? Um...high heels. ;o) Well, I couldn't wear flip flops! I need to go shoe shopping I suppose.
I love how I'm just rambling, I feel like I'm just talking to a wall sometimes (especially if no one comments, that makes it even more fun, ha ha ha!). It's like talking to Tim during football season. Might as well be by myself. ;o) Does anyone feel my pain? Huh?
Anyway - after a few hours of being at work my boss pulls me aside and says that I can go home at noon if I want. The IT guy was re-doing all of the computers so it was sort of pointless for anyone to be there anyway. So that was great! I decided to meet Tim for lunch. :o) Haven't done that in forever! We did the "old married couple" thing and met at Target for an afternoon of window shopping, which turned into real shopping because the Troy & Gabriella High School Musical barbie doll singing set was on sale and it is going to be one of Haylee's Christmas presents. :o) (good thing she can't read yet huh?!) After that he took me to some Japanese place which was very yummy. Then I followed him back to his office.
It's like Dave & Buster's at his work, you can play ping pong or do karaoke! One of the guys (Teddy...we call him our asian brother, ha ha) even has a HUGE cockroach as a pet. Yes, I know, it's weird. Almost as weird as having a pet BAT, but ew. I gagged a little. He put a baby carrot in a cup and taped another cup on top and punched holes in the cup. How desperate would I have to be for a pet to have it be a cockroach. Barf.
Anyway...I played my Daddy-in-law a game of ping pong and he beat me. I played my hubby a game and he beat me. It was a pretty close score I must say (not really). It was great fun. :o) I know the boys work OH so hard, doesn't it sound like it? ;o)
After that I came home, did a QUICK clean sweep of the house with no one under my feet or bugging me in any sort of way and man it was nice! Hee hee! The house is clean now and I just have to do a few things tomorrow (Sat). So maybe I can actually RELAX this weekend. Oh wouldn't that be GREAT?! I'm looking forward to Sunday and church...we skipped out last Sunday and I hate that because it just throws me off. I feel like I've wondered too far away or something. It throws off my equilibrium. ;o) I'm just kidding, but I do feel like something is off when I miss. Haylee hates missing too, she loves church SO much.
Ok...well I'm going to go, I'm really tired. I hope you had fun reading my ramblings...I should re-name my blog to "Ramblings of Melissa's mind....." - now THAT would be entertainment.

So You Think You Can Dance...results
So I REALLY wanted Danny to win...BUT I am SOOOO glad Sabra won!!! It is SO awesome and amazing she's only been dancing for four years and was hanging with the professionals who've been dancing their WHOLE lives! People like that truly inspire me. I'm 27 years old and I still want to do SOOO many things in my life. I sometimes feel maybe I'm too old or it's too late because I'm married and have a kid. But...times like this I realize it's not too late. :o) Anything could happen! Yay Sabra!
Not a high heels-type of girl!
I thought that title sounded kinda cool. My feet have just been KILLIN' me since I started this new job in June. I LOOOOOOOOVE my new job. I'm OK with dressing up fancy & nice everyday. But the shoes - ow. They kill my poor BONY feet. I have THE boniest (wow, that's a word!) feet ever too. If you looked at JUST my feet you might think I'm anorexic. If you looked from the thighs up - you'd KNOW I'm NOT. LOL LOL LOL
I'm not sure what is wrong with me lately either - I haven't been able to wake up prior to 6am. I have TRIED. I have NO self motivation and try not to feel guilty. But I'm really back to square one because I have stopped my morning Bible readings and my nightly exercising. So...I'm confessing on my blog. Now I guess I have to actually DO something about it huh?
I need to start waking up at like 5am or something when school starts. As it is I wake up at 6am, I look over my prayer list (because I do keep that promise to myself, I signed up for it at church and I DO it every morning, those people rely on me to!) and by 720am we're (hopefully) out the door. By 730am at the latest. Then I'm dropping Haylee off at 740am....which needs to be earlier or I will have to drop her off at her class. I guess either way would be fine. I would rather she walk over with her other friends though (and the Y teacher). So I am goaling to drop her off by 7:15am. :o) Then I'll be to work probably around 7:45am and I can take a little extra longer lunch and get off at 5pm. Then go home, work out and get ready for bedtime schedules.
It's a never ending cycle that makes me tired just thinking about it. :o) I think I'm going to start working out on Sat/Sun and then 1-2 times a week also. Use the weekend when I have more time and I will work out an hour on both those days and just 30 mins twice during the weekday. I am going to make myself a calendar and actually use smiley face stickers to motivate myself. LOL. You would THINK that since I was in the Air Force I'd have more motivation to work out....you would think (right?).
Tomorrow we get to wear jeans to work! Yay!

Well today...I learned a few things. One of my good friend's mom has cancer - she's a frequent fellow blogger (and her Mom - also my friend - is the sweetest Christian women I've never yet met!). I would just appreciate any and ALL prayers for this special lady. She has been quite an inspiration and someone I definitely look up to! I just know God has something huge in store for this lady - please pray for strength for her and her family at this time.
On a different note (but still a little scary one) my sister's husband, Al, is camping & hunting this week. I guess someone stole his bow & a can of gas from his camp site. They probably stole it because they didn't want him to hunt the same thing...or who knows. I just hope that he stays safe & that the people who did that get penalized somehow.
Tim and I figured out that we have a 4th member of this family. He leaves little dropping every night on our back porch (isn't that sweet?). It took us all of four hours to figure out (thanks to google images, LOL)...it's not a rat (oh thank God)...not mice (ew)...or raccoon...or possum. We hear the noise practically EVERY night, but we didn't put two and two together.
His name...Barry. Barry the BAT. Yes people. We have a bat. No, we did not purchase this creature, he chose us. I did some research and google has bat sounds, he makes this exact sound and his poop looks identical to the one on google images. I love the internet. LOL! A touch away and you can know everything we need to. Back to the bat. You have no idea how relieved I am it's not a RAT. I hate rats. Granted, bats are flying rats. Somehow giving it wings makes it different. LOL! I think we'll just have to keep cleaning his poop because since he's been around there have been a lot less BUGS and spiders on the back porch.
We think he's a California Myotis. If you click on that link, he's creepy looking. Tim thinks it's cool I think. I'm just a little horrified, but as long as he only comes out at night (which he does because we hear him "talking" every night) and as long as he doesn't attack me, I'm good.

His name...Barry. Barry the BAT. Yes people. We have a bat. No, we did not purchase this creature, he chose us. I did some research and google has bat sounds, he makes this exact sound and his poop looks identical to the one on google images. I love the internet. LOL! A touch away and you can know everything we need to. Back to the bat. You have no idea how relieved I am it's not a RAT. I hate rats. Granted, bats are flying rats. Somehow giving it wings makes it different. LOL! I think we'll just have to keep cleaning his poop because since he's been around there have been a lot less BUGS and spiders on the back porch.
We think he's a California Myotis. If you click on that link, he's creepy looking. Tim thinks it's cool I think. I'm just a little horrified, but as long as he only comes out at night (which he does because we hear him "talking" every night) and as long as he doesn't attack me, I'm good.
What a weird day! Please pray for my friend, friend's Mom & my brother in law - Al. :o)

Tonight as Haylee & I were walking to the community pool we walked down the little sidewalk path & she says, "You know Mommy, if you ever get lost you are never alone." Last night we went to a FUN karaoke party at my brother and sister in law's - Mark & Kathy's house. :o)) It was a lot of FUN, thanks Mark & Kathy for inviting us!

We all had a great time and can't wait to do it again!!! Maybe next time we will have a party at our house. By the time we got home it was 1 AM because Jeff & Brandie live about 45 mins away and it took another 30 min to get to Mark & Kathy's. :o) But it was well worth it.
Today we've just been relaxing, cleaning and getting ready for the week ahead of us. In just 11 more short days, my baby will be a 5 year old!! We've been planning out her day. We're going to Club Libby Lu so that she can get a makeover & then we're going to Disneyland all day. It's going to be a lot of fun!

Crazy Thursday
I say crazy because some weird things have been happening at work. LOL! Work is going wonderfully in case you are wondering. :o) Everyone is SO nice & I'm really getting along with everyone, learning everyone's quirks (namely the partners in which I assist). One partner...I won't name any names, is hilarious. He makes me laugh so hard some days.
It's never a dull moment I tell you! Today he was shopping for some reading glasses and went to Lenscrafters, tried on a pair and left his pair there (put them back on the glasses rack!) and walked out with brand new reading glasses. He didn't realize it until he got back to the office (luckily, right across the street from Lenscrafters) and tried them on. Then he asked ME to call them and tell them what happened and to swap them. HA HA HA! I was a little embarrassed but I did it. I think they thought I was looney tunes. Oh man...the things you do when you're someone's assistant. It's NEVER a dull moment. ;o)
Tonight I came home and Tim & Haylee were there (Tim's server at work went down so they all went home & Haylee was at Susie's today so he picked her up early). Haylee was even darker than she usually is, which means she was at the beach all day today. One lucky girl, she goes to the beach a couple of times a week. Tim needed to pick something up from Target, so Haylee went with him.
I got to do some laundry, clean the kitchen and freeze some food I've been meaning to freeze the past couple of days now. OOoooh and I got creative in the kitchen (no, doesn't happen often for me) & created a marinade for some pork ribs we bought at Costco. (I'm gettin' desperate if I'm bloggin about pork ribs, right?!). It was so delicious, I can't wait to eat it. I put it in freezer bags with the pork ribs and they'll marinade in the freezer for a couple of days. Yum. It was parts worchestershire sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, sea salt, paprika, red pepper and beer (beer is really good with bbq!). It was sweet yet spicy. I was superbly proud of myself, which is why I am blogging about it!
Tomorrow is FRIDAY! Yipeeee! One more day of work and then off to our BUSY weekend.
Oh I keep meaning to blog about this. A few months ago, when I had my yard sale at my friend's house, her husband Mike gave me an OLD Canon SLR 35mm camera. I am SO into photography & hopefully soon I'll be taking classes in it. I am SO SO SO excited about this camera. I looked it up online and it is older than I am! It was made in 1977 (I was born a few years later, lol). I bought some 35mm film, which is at a laughable price of .99 now! Ha! I didn't realize that I bought outdoor film though, so I've been taking pictures of Haylee outdoors with it. I cannot wait to develop the film & see what I've got. I'll let you know! I took some cute ones of her today with it. The camera is SO heavy, compared to my digital. And I have a BIG digital camera. ;o)
Ok enough rambling! Have a happy super great Friday to everyone.

My husband rocks!
He really does. :o) I love you honey (if you ever read my blog...he's very anti-blog, lol). Anyway, he's amazing in all kinds of ways and sometimes it's just really hard to believe we've been married ALMOST (in Sept) 8 years!!!! We were OH SO young when we decided to get married (18 & 19 years old) -- and I have a feeling that a lot of people didn't think we'd make it this far. ;o)
He's the most thoughtful, romantic (yes guys, he is), sweetest hubby in the universe! He is the BEST father to our beautiful daughter. "His girls" are number one in his life and he shows us everyday in the things he does. He still buys me flowers...he sends me chocolates & dipped fruit baskets to my workplace...he calls me to talk to me & tells me he loves me...he gives me back rubs (even when I don't feel like returning the favor)...he takes us out and he spoils us!!
Today...MUCH to my surprise...he brought home the NEW LG Black Cherry Chocolate phone!!! Well I sort of needed a new phone, mine is 2 years old and sometimes it just dies right in the middle of me talking on it (hello, annoying?). Plus it had scratches all over it (I guess me dropping it a few times didn't help that though huh?). Anyway...it was getting to that time where I needed somethin' new and here comes Tim to the rescue!
Here's a picture of my new phone!!! Hee hee I'm so excited. :o) I just transfered over all of my contacts...you know you'd think they'd have a way to import/export them by now, right??
Anyway...this surprise came at JUST the right time. I was having a CRAZY day at work and a little chaotic moment happened and I had a headache all day because of it. Don't you hate that? Well then I have to go sit and wait for Haylee to get out of her vocal class...she is having a great time in there by the way - - LOVES it! After that we go home & Tim just pulled up to from the gym. :o) He is out with his friend tonight, so just me and Haylee here. She is so funny. This is the first night in 2 nights we have been home around her bedtime - so she's taking a shower now (yes, big girls do showers, didn't ya know?!) and she'll finally get to bed by 8:30pm tonight. But stinky girl hasn't showered in 2 days! LOL!

I had Haylee w/me and she did GREAT!
Tim called us on our way home to tell us to get over to Chick's (with him) because clothes there were on SALE! So I went crazy and Haylee got five shirts and a bikini (all Roxy -- her favorite, LOL! she likes it because it's what the surfer girls wear and she wants to be a surfer girl!). Anyway, I got two shirts too!!! Tim got 3 also. Everything was like 75-80% off, so it was a great deal. I was so excited. We put a dent in school clothes shopping for Haylee. She just needs a few more shirts and some jeans and bottoms, more shoes (this girl goes through shoes like nothing else!) and I think that's it.

Riches mean nothing to me
I just had to post this - this morning. I was reading my sister in law's, Kathy's, blog last night and she vented about how she is upset about how the world is taking a dive and more and more people are becoming materialistic and fake. People brag about what nice houses they have, what new nice (expensive) cars they drive, their Victoria Beckham jeans (these are really pricey if you don't know....they have crowns on your bottom, LOL. Very very pricey), what name brand of hand bag they carry (out here it's mainly COACH and Dooney and Burke, etc).
It's so superficial and it seems even KIDS are growing up to believe it's OK to want these things and they are growing up to learn it is alright to want to marry a man just because he is RICH.
I honestly don't believe it is like this everywhere -- we live in California where a lot of things are fake and artificial (if you get my drift). I see mothers everyday pushing their babies in strollers and living in million dollar homes, driving luxury vehicles and wonder to myself "what on EARTH does HER husband do?". I don't see myself wanting to be like that by any means. Sure she has the nice house, car, clothes, accessories -- but is she truly happy?
I believe she probably is not. I live in a condo (a nice one granted, but we rent it), I drive a Nissan Sentra (although it's top of the line as far as the Sentra goes...it's still NOT a luxury vehicle), I wear clothes from TARGET (hey, they're cute!) ------ BUT, I spend time with my husband a lot because he's not working his buns off to keep up with me. I actually have a job that pays A LOT of our bills. I focus a lot of time on Haylee and I'm happy just being ME. I will NEVER get botox or fake anything. I'm happy just the way I am. I have Jesus Christ in my life, who died on the cross to save me from Hell - what on EARTH else do I need? :o))
Kathy...this is just not too coincidental (because I don't believe in chance) - but I read a few chapters in the book of Jeremiah this morning and found this verse and thought of YOU and your post:
"This is what the Lord says:
Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength
or the rich man boast of his riches,
but let him who boasts boast about this:
that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,
declares the Lord."
Jeremiah 9:23-24

It's about time...
I need a haircut. I hate it when my hair gets too long. On a lot of people, long hair is beautiful and flowing and shiny and pretty. On ME it's blah! It gets this natural wave (that I hate) and frizzy and you can really see the ends frazzled. It doesn't look great. ;o) I like it a little bit above the shoulder and freshly cut. I've grown to love my long bangs too.
I was having a hard time deciding if I should go to my "normal" place or go to the day spa I had a gift certificate to last time I got my hair cut. I LOVED the style the lady at the day spa did, but it's the same style just longer. It's about $20 more expensive too. I try not to spend a lot of money on these kinds of things...it's just inches of hair, yet they charge you an arm & leg! I don't get it. Tim's haircuts cost $15 (sometimes less with the weekly coupons we get in the mail). But MINE cost anywhere from $45-$60 (not including a tip). How fair is that? LOL! So anyway, I officially made my appointment after talking about it for a month. ;o) Tomorrow at 6:30pm!
Other than that, my day has been uneventful. :o) I played receptionist again for 1.5 hrs while the other girl was at lunch. Minimal work to do right now. Busy season (aka tax season) is just around the corner though!!

She left last night for MEPS and she is on her way tomorrow to BASIC TRAINING for the AIR FORCE! Hoooraah! She is growing up and this is going to be a great experience for her. Pray she makes it through OK!

I am soooooo glad Friday is here! Even though I had a day off this week (the concert) I feel like it's dragged on forever. I slept in this morning until 6am and here I am almost 630 on the computer. I actually haven't been on that full time. Anyway....yay I can sleep in tomorrow!!
What am I going to do this weekend?...
-clean house (it's really gross, I've been neglecting it to spend time w/my family!)
-grocery shopping (today after work. yay. see the enthusiasm?)
-i need to sort through Haylee's clothes and rearrange them in her dresser
-i think i'm still going to Harvest Crusade tomorrow night ... Tim has a severe ear infection so I don't know if we'll end up going or not now.
-my niece's bday party is on Sunday

Wow I am so tired. Did I mention in the post below (read IT first please!) that we got home at 1am? Ya. 1am. I am normally in bed by 10! LOL. I am so tired, I woke up at 6am. It's going on 8pm right now here. I am surprised I'm still awake. ;o)

Hi there! Well thought I'd update ya. :o) Wow what a day yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, if you have never seen Linkin Park live, you just HAVE to. They are the absolute BEST. You know, after this concert they are written in my book as the same level as Good Charlotte. (and GC is my ultimate fav band ever). But now I have two and I cannot choose which one so they are BOTH my numero uno. Linkin Park...wow. I am surprised I have my voice today. Seriously.
We had the greatest time and I'm really glad I got to share it with my honey & with my Shell (Michelle, my sister in law). She is leaving on Sunday to go to basic training in the Air Force. Pray for her! I know she is going to do SO great and it will be a life altering experience for her. I am so excited. She had a great time at the concert too. I have more pics (from before the concert and during on my cell phone camera). I will have to download them later, I'll make a slide show. I was so mad when I got there EVERYONE had a camera (except me, lol)! They barely looked into my purse, I could've snuck that thing in. Oh well.. OH and at one of the vendor's tents I played a game and won THE BEST seats ever - an upgrade to what tickets we had. So Tim gave our old tickets (which were decent seats) to a young couple sitting in the grassy area. They were so excited, lol! At that tent they also took our pic (click on it to enlarge):
Isn't it the coolest? We had a great time...look back later for a slideshow. XO~Melissa♥
