Yes...a lot actually, LOL

I am woman enough to admit that I make a mistake every single day of my life. :) Yup, I do.

Tim playing Madden and my blog playlist {at the moment it's Savage Garden "I knew I loved you before I met you...I think I dreamed you into life.."}

Monster energy drink.
When is the last time you cried?
Am I having de ja vu? Yesterday...the dog...the finger...remember?

Not as much as I'm scared of SNAKES! I can easily crush a spider. They don't bug me that much {no pun intended, hee hee!}

Both...and they are equally disgusting to swim in. :P
Ever been to a bonfire party?
Yes...not in awhile though.

Yes
Kissed someone in a pick up?
Would I be showing my roots if I said yes?? Ok, then I'll say no. {really, I haven't}
Is it cute when a boy/girl calls you baby?
It depends...if it's some creep then no. If it's appropriate then maybe. If it's my husband then I feel special. :)

ha ha! well today was in the mid-80's with a nice breeze. i caught myself saying it was actually "hot" out today and then i felt bad because i remember those excruciatingly HOT summer days in Texas when we used to live there {ugh...i did not like Texas}...120 degrees, hot enough to melt the molding around your car's windshield {OH YES...it did}.
today was BEEEEE-A-OOOOOOO-TIFUL! i couldn't have asked for a nicer day for the pool. we were going to go to the beach but things changed and we didn't. so i took Haylee to her audition {she did great} and then we came home and SWAM for a couple of hours {i sun bathed and swam...i'm not a big swimmer or anything}. then Tim got home from getting an oil change that took two hours - wow! he grilled some chicken and i made some pasta salad and we ate outside, it was great.
tonight we went to church - our usual Sat night outing unless we have something else going on {then we go on Sunday}. i love it, i really really like my church. it was an incredible message tonight on politics and religion which i thought was stepping on toes in a great way...my pastor has nerve that is for sure! love him! i want to post the link to the message tomorrow when it appears on my church's website, i think it's great...hope you enjoy it too.
here are some random pics from today...OH and Tim got a new BBQ grill...he's in love. i think he loves it more than he loves me. ;) it cooks really good too...our chicken was GREAT.

we ended the night right. we were going to watch Wall E, but we thought Haylee might fall asleep because the next showing after church was at 7:40pm and she's usually crashed out around 8-8:30pm. so instead we promised her Golden Spoon frozen yogurt and told her we would go tomorrow afternoon to see Wall E. :) the end! hope everyone's having a great weekend!!

ah it was nice
today i had OFF from work. it was dreamy. :) the kind of day you just expect on your day off. first i woke up at 6am because Tim got ready for the gym but i fell back to sleep. then Haylee woke me up at 6:30am because that's her normal wake up time {crazy i know}, so i told her to go play in her room & i fell back asleep until Tim called me at 7:45am to tell me to come downstairs because he bought me a Starbucks coffee & scone! score, i love my hubs! he rocks. what a giver! ;)
after that i woke up, Haylee and i ate our breakfast {she got a scone too} and SNUGGLED with my girl and watched the Today show. Coldplay was performing at the Rockefeller Center...pretty cool. then Haylee & i exercised. we did pilates, i love pilates, i always feel like a dancer {ha...i'm far from it with absolutely zilch rhythm, but i try}. Haylee did it with me too, she was HILARIOUS! i wish i would've video taped that! :P
then we got ready for the day, i did some laundry & cleaned. then we showered and got ready to go meet some friends from work to have lunch! Sunday is my friend Stephanie's 25th bday, so wanted to go out to lunch with her. but then our super great and wonderful friend Nate paid. what a guy. :) how awesome is that.... i think i owe him at least three lunches! i think?! anyway we went to the pet store after that to look at all of the cute puppies, they are so adorable.
then Haylee & i headed home to go SWIMMING! yeah! it was hot so it was a nice day for it. :) i laid out more than swam, but little miss swam and swam for TWO hours straight. she just loves the pool, can't blame her. then we did something hilarious...we threw Miley in the pool AND video taped it. ;) i hope you get a big kick outta this video like we are...ha ha...i know it seems mean, but Miley really DOES want to go into the pool she just doesn't like being thrown in. don't go calling the animal police on me or anything....this is just too funny. tell me what you think...
I hope you enjoy your weekend! ours has completely changed from the last time i blogged, so i have no idea what exactly we are doing. i'll blog about it for sure though...you can always count on it. ;)

and you thought i wasn't domesticated.
tonight i decided to cook dinner {again...hello 2 nights in a row!}, granted it IS hamburger helper. i really don't think Tim & Haylee mind though. it's hot, it's cooked, it's a meal. homemade at that. ;)
i went a step further AND i thought i'd make Haylee some pretty hair accessories. :) i used to make her bows ALL of the time {if you knew me back then you know that about me}. i loved it. it was so much fun. she went through a phase were she didn't want bows anymore {made me so sad} and now she's back in the phase were it's ok! i think because it's so short she wears it down and a bow over to the side, so it's not too much. here is Haylee in a set of bows i made back in the day...

gosh it feels like forever ago! {she was probably 4 in this picture...so almost 2 years ago!} yup, we liked big beauuuutiful bows back then. ;) but she's not a baby anymore so i am getting creative again and i have all of these bow making things {i was really into it a few years ago} and so i found these funky buttons...i have them in all colors. great thing about being so artsy is i have all of this stuff on hand. :) so i glued some buttons to some barrettes and came up with little cutesy hair clips. i hope they work...but i think they look cute!

i know Haylee will love them anyway. buttons. hmm. who would've thought? :) me!
well tomorrow i have the day OFF from work, yes! i am keeping Haylee home with me {she wasn't that excited at first, i had to bribe her with the pool, LOL! she LOVES school!}. we are going to my work to show off Haylee and to take one of my friends out to lunch for her birthday. Haylee is really excited about that too, she drew all of my friends {i told her who would be going to lunch with us} a picture with their names on it! too cute!! she is the best kid ever i promise. :)
i'm excited for my 3 day weekend. maybe i will get some stuff ready for the yard sale my community is going to have in July. maybe i'll make some money off my junk. who knows! have a great day!!

i'm in a funk-eeee mood
gosh lately i have been ridiculously crazy and silly. i don't know what in the WORLD has gotten into me lately. LOL. it's like a dose of happy pills. sometimes when i get home i crash like no other though. last night i fell asleep on the couch at 9:30pm! it was sad, for Tim, who wanted me to watch shows with him, ha ha!
i think it's that i drink a lot of coffee lately {more than i really should, more than any one person should consume}. i also sometimes, from time to time {ok, 1-2 times a week} drink an energy drink. my recent favs are Full Throttles and i like any flavor. boy oh boy. i think i'm an energetic person in general. i'm ALWAYS on the move. no matter what. maybe it's why i've stayed in shape {or thinner} for such a long time without really working out....ha! i cannot sit still, it's not a lie. i work a desk job and you'd never know it because i am hardly EVER at my desk. it's hard for me, it's true. i'm wondering if i should go in to test for ADD. but then again, i do not like medicine - i won't take it. i know, i'm silly. call me a hippy or whatever but i do not trust medication. the only thing i will take is an advil {during those crampy times, ha ha} and sometimes i will take an allergy pill because it gets SO bad.
anyway...besides my goofy mood things are going well for me. work is fine, sometimes i feel belittled but i think maybe it comes with the territory? i really cannot complain because it's a simple job {not to degrade myself, but really...i AM over qualified but i knew this before i took the job}. i like my job because of the simplicity. i wouldn't be happy doing something else. it gives me the opportunity to work toward my photography career any way. :) so i can put up with a little crap from time to time. i just think for my personality it's hard sometimes to do what i do, but i try my best and i know i fail at times, but hey, whatever...hello i'm human. :)
i feel like this email is really random and i'm sorry. i had a few little drinks tonight to relax a bit {and it's working}. so my mind is just flowing out into this blog post. ;) i'm really excited for friday. we were supposed to attend a wedding in northern CA but things changed, and i kept my scheduled time off, just because. so i am thinking of keeping Haylee home w/me so we can have a girl day together. i want to meet some friends near my work and maybe grab a Pinkberry or something, yay! :)
my sis-in-law who joined the Air Force a year ago is down here visiting so last night we went out to dinner with her and her friend that she brought with her. it was fun! we ate at El Torito which was fun. :) Saturday we are going to the BEACH. yay! then Sunday it sounds like we are going to Tim's brother's for a bbq. this weekend will be fun. :) we always are doing something, so that's pretty darn cool.
okie doke i'm going to go now....still have the bathe Haylee and put her to bed! :) she went to Knottsberry Farm today and had a blast! i love the summer programs...so great. but i wish it could be ME spending that time with her. i feel sad, but at the same time she probably has more fun with her little friends.
bye for now! :))

ok ok ok i have to go...been 3 mins and the hubs and the kid wanna eat. :) go figure! ha ha! i will blog more tomorrow....things were good today!

summertime...soakin' it up
so today was great! we had one of our families over - tim's sister nicole {with hubby brian, and kids tyler, jacob & lilly, one of ty's friends also came over}. i think it broke over 100 degrees outside and we spent THE DAY in the pool. it was amazing. i think we're all sunburnt {i practically caked on the spf 50 all day...}. everyone is gone so tim & haylee are BACK in the pool & i'm downloading pics & blogging. ;)
we had pizza and drinks and cheese dip...and fun fun fun! the boys played guitar hero for a bit but it was just too hot so they made their way back to the pool to cool off. i love having a pool in my backyard, it's so convenient! :) we are definitely the party house this year!! ha ha! i like it that way...we never have to go anywhere, lol! {can you tell i'm a homebody?}
anyway, i just took pics of the girls because the boys would've SOAKED my camera if i stopped by to take a shot of them. and the girls, well they are just girls and it's easy because they love the camera. ;) everyone had a great time! can't wait to do it again!!
hope everyone is havin' a great summer so far....here's some cute pics of the girls...haylee & lilly.

happy summer :)
so tomorrow is the first day of SUMMER and for some reason that inspired me to type in yellow...sorry if it's hard to read. ;) i like it. of course i would.
i can tell you now this blog entry is going to be very random...i do not have much to report. there have been a small series of minor bad things/news in my life right now, but nothing i can/want to blog about {you may or may not already know anyhow if you talk to me on a daily basis...}. but i do want to ask that you just lift those things up in prayer for me. one person DOES know, and of course that is God. He knows my heart and my troubles and fears. i don't need to blog them. nothing drastic {for now} so don't go worrying...
anyway today was a joke. it started out pretty crappy for me. i was up ALL night in pain. but finally i fell asleep and i was just a big CRAB today. i feel bad for my coworkers who didn't know whether to smile or ignore me because i drank a ROCKSTAR and took a bunch of ADVIL and then i was so very energetic and hyper. it was a quiet day, which is VERY unusual for a Thursday! it was nice because i feel like i needed a break from certain people today. :)) my day got better and we had root beer floats at work and i got to talk to my dearest friends today and i just love to do that some days...some days you just don't FEEL like working! ;)
haylee spent the day with her grammie today! she doesn't have TLC today or tomorrow, so she's spending time with her cousins & grammie. she went swimming today and played in grammie's make up {she has dark blue eye shadow on as we speak}. she has so much fun over there. grammie is the best. :) she's an amazing mom too as well as an out of the world {in the most amazing way} grandma to all 10 grand kids and 5 grand DOGS too, ha ha! everyone loves susie. ;)
you know what i am thinking alot about lately? PHOTOGRAPHY! i have decided i do not need a degree in it. i mean, hello i will be 29 this year and i sometimes freakin' feel like the OLDEST person in my community college classes. :( it's sad, i know, but you know what...i'm OK with it. i'm fine with not having a degree. i know that sounds terrible, but you know what...i have a lot more than some people WITH degrees. i see so many people NOT happy with what they are doing and/or have their degree in and i am blessed to have the life i have. i feel like maybe, yes, i did things backwards {married, kid, then college...} but in a way i feel like i've benefited from it. i don't mean to sound preachy or anything here but i've thought a lot about it. photography is not rocket science. {otherwise i wouldn't be doing it! hee hee!} you either have the eye for it or you don't. and i believe i do. i love it and it is ALL i ever think about. :) it's my desire. i am DYING for a DSLR camera too....it's just expensive unfortunately. hopefully one day.
with that said, i think i may do 1-2 more photo classes at a community college. but the choices here are slim {with my work schedule that is}. i really just think it's something i can do and learn in time/experience. i may do free photography for people at first so that i can gain some extra experience. we shall see. i need the right equipment first. :)
i told you this post was going to be random...my mind just flows after a long {non-eventful} day. ha ha! thanks for listening though and reading and i'm sure you are thinking i am crazy and random and ridiculous right now. but hey...whatever...it's my blog. thanks for stopping by.

how did this happen...?
One day you have a baby. In the blink of an eye this baby is smiling and cooing at you, next thing you know this baby is walking. You blink again and she starts growing up. Next thing you know tomorrow's her VERY LAST DAY of Kindergarten. :(
I don't know how this happened. I remember so vividly shopping for new clothes and her school supplies, ordering her pink sparkly Tinkerbell backpack and matching lunch box with her name embroidered in purple. I remember taking her to get her physical and 4 shots and how she looked at her arm as the nurse injected the needles and with her big happy brown eyes she looked up at me and said "Mama, that didn't even hurt!". I remember going to Kindergarten Round-Up and I remember meeting her teacher and I even remember the very first day, I was SO NERVOUS for her, she wasn't nervous at all. She marched, no, RAN up to those big blue doors and said "bye Mom!" and barely kissed me as I made a bee line right to the car, turned on the radio and bawled my eyes out because that day was the start to something new and scary. {for me!}
How did she grow up so FAST and so SOON? How? My heart is aching, wondering if every year will just grow more and more bittersweet for me? I try...really really hard to enjoy every moment with her and let her know how much I love her and that I will always be here for her...even when she doesn't want me to be. But my heart hurts the more she grows. :) The more independent she becomes and the more she doesn't look back to make sure I'm still there. Being a parent is the most rewarding, yet heart breaking thing I've ever experience thus far.
So tomorrow...is Haylee's very last day of Kindergarten. She has learned so very much. She can write in full sentences and read everything. She can count way past 100 and can even do basic addition and subtraction. She can tie her shoes and she's very sociable. I am so blessed to have the most amazing daughter in the world. Her heart is huge and she's very smart and incredibly beautiful. We will be fighting the boys off left and right I can tell you that already. ;) But I'm a little sad...for the next step is big. 1st grade! Oh Haylee is sooooo excited. She is not looking forward to summer, but AFTER summer when she will be going into the 1st grade!!
The month after next {August} she will be turning 6! Can you even believe I will be a mom to a SIX YEAR OLD? Because, I can't! ;) LOL! They sure grow up fast...
Now that I've said that piece {and not without a dry eye, might I add} -- this week has been pretty good so far. There are a few things that are bothering me...but nothing too drastic. :) Which is good! I am still going strong with my exercising. Not really strong, but I did do it 3 times last week and I started off again tonight with a little Yoga Booty Ballet, which I LOVED! It is hilarious because, hello...white girl can't dance...ha ha! But in my bedroom with the curtains closed and while Tim's still at work I can, and I do! Gosh if you could just be a fly on the wall in my house. ;) You'd probably die laughing...no, not probably...for sure. Ha!
Anyway - excited for this weekend we have some things planned already. We're busy little bees on the weekends! Have to keep it that way so we don't get bored. Hope everyone has a super day...thanks for reading my blog tonight. xoxo-mels

confessions of a scatter brained wife & mom...
Sometimes I SWEAR I have the biggest brain farts. Especially lately, I have so much on my mind and I focus on ONE thing and I forget everything else. I feel so dumb sometimes and this morning was one of those times. I truly felt like the worst wife ever. It is Father's day and at least I remembered the gift last week, LOL! But since we stayed out late last night we all just slept in until 9am and I totally forgot I told Tim that Haylee and I would make him a special breakfast this morning {keep in mind I told him this a week ago, hello...I forget what happened to me yesterday, let alone a WEEK AGO!}. Needless to say, I felt really bad and of course every option I referred to he didn't want to do...because he had his mind set on breakfast! Argh!
After beating myself up about it and yes...I did cry. :( Haylee was so cute, I was getting ready to try to at least grab a coffee this morning and I was talking to her and she asked me why I was crying and I said simply "because Mommy's not perfect" and the sweet little bug wrapped her long arms around my waist and said "Mommy, you ARE perfect to me. you are beautiful and you look like a princess and you are the best Mommy ever.". Which...of course made me cry even harder! :) God put this little girl in my life and she is the best thing that has ever happened to me, by far. She is just my life, well put.
So after beating myself up and having a pep talk with Haylee {ha ha!}, I decided to tell Tim I was sorry that I forgot and that I felt stupid and we should just start over. Except by that time it was 10:30am and all of the fast places to get b'fast were past the point of b'fast. So we grabbed a Starbucks and a donut at Dietrich's instead. I thought it was great and probably better than my burnt pancakes and runny eggs anyway. I thought so. :) He was over it too and we had a better day from that point. I feel like I'm getting sick too, so that could be why I'm so out of it. These allergies make me feel that way, for sure!
This afternoon we met the fam at a regional park and spent the day there. It was nice and actually really relaxing. :) Dad got to open his gifts and all his kids were there, I'm sure he couldn't have asked for more than that. Everyone was in good moods and we even brought Miley! She did great! We actually bought some calming herbal pills for her and those helped. She is SO VERY hyper, so we had to. ;) She was really good! I think we'll do that more often.
After that, we got home around 6pm and the three of us {me, Tim & Haylee} soaked in the hot tub for an hour. It was a great ending. Tim is out getting me some Golden Spoon and I'm excited! LOL. Oh and I forgot to say {ha ha there I go again....} Tim loved his gifts from Haylee. She picked out a Raiders flag for his car, a Raiders travel coffee mug & a Raiders magnet. :) I hope everyone had a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! To all of the fathers out there....

jus' chillin'
So far this weekend has been relaxed...tomorrow is going to be a little more crazy. The fam is getting together for a Father's Day/beginning of Summer celebration. We never really need a reason to party...it's always fun with everyone. I am actually feeling a bit under the weather and I think it's because of the weather. I have severe allergies {I'm a big geek...I have extremely sensitive skin...I'm highly allergic to wool...and I am allergic to everything in the air such as pollen, dust, grass, ragweed, etc. anything that grows outside pretty much! LOL!}. They are flaring up again...yuck. But Tim bought some allergy meds, hopefully they help.
Yesterday my company took everyone to DISNEYLAND - I have pics on my facebook if you want to see them - if you want the link please leave me a comment here & I will give it to you. It's so easy to post them to facebook. ;) It was a great time! I got there around 8:30am and left at 5pm. After I got home and Haylee told me all about her tea party {she was sad I couldn't go and I felt incredibly guilty...even though I bought her some pink mickey mouse ears and had her name embroidered on the back, LOL.} and then the three of us went out to dinner to ... my FAVORITE place - The Stadium Brewery {in Aliso Viejo...if you live out here you HAVE to go sometime...}. I had my most fav thing there, the Margherita pizza with an ice cold glass of their specialty blonde beer. Amazing. I slip into a mini coma. Ha ha! Love it!! It was perfect. :))
After dinner we watch The Hulk at the movie theater. I am in love with the Marvel comic movies, so of course I loved it. I was SO tired by the time it was done, but it was GREAT! I recommend it, but make sure you watch Ironman first. ;) That way you 'get' the ending.
Today we slept in a little {8am, ha ha!}, Tim worked out, I added some pics of yesterday to my facebook and Haylee played. Then we drove around to different areas. We love doing that. It gets us out of the house and Haylee always falls asleep so she gets in a good little nap and Tim and I can talk about everything. :) We came home around lunch & I made grilled cheeses and then Haylee and I had our very OWN tea party. We both dressed up and everything, I took pics, it was so cute. I made peppermint tea and we ate shortbread cookies. She has a Carebears ceramic tea set so we got to use that too. It was great. Man, I love my little girl with ALL my HEART.
Tonight Tim and I are going with his sister Nicole and her hubby Brian to see Jimmy Fallon at a comedy club. We're going out to dinner first at Javier's, which I love too. It should be fuuuuun. Nicki & Brian are fun people...and I'm not just saying that because they're family! Haylee is stoked cuz she gets to go to their house and see her cousins...Lilly {who is the same age as Haylee}, Jacob & Tyler. Grammie is watching all of them...should be a fun night for them too! I haven't been to the Improv in a LONG time! I'm excited!!
Then tomorrow we're having the get together at this one big regional park we always go to each year. It is fun because we have 9 kids in the family, so a big park is really what they need. ;) So energetic those rug rats! {including my own!} Haylee is excited to practice her soccer moves with Uncle Mark! And yes, I did sign her up for AYSO soccer again this year and yes, she is EXCITED. I cannot wait. Being a soccer mom is actually FUN, even though I am usually the youngest one there. ;) Ha ha! Too funny! But true!
Alrighty I think I have rambled enough...I think I'm going to go shower because I just sun bathed for an hour while I let Haylee swim. Maybe I will add an extra layer of red to my skin, who knows. Ha! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend as well....
Man, I love my little girl with ALL my HEART.

wow! yes! i hope it's great.
so tomorrow my company is going to DISNEYLAND. everyone! there are a few people right now i could care less to see actually. i won't name any names...but i just got a little burned lately and i actually take pride in what i do, just to have someone take it away from me. i think i will get into it a bit later. :( people are so rude and selfish and mean sometimes! i don't get it.
anyway...DISNEYLAND...hello how exciting is that?! i haven't been since April when our passes expired. we will be getting new season passes this year too. Haylee loves going. gee what kid doesn't? {what ADULT doesn't?} i have already decided who i'm riding what with. we're like little kids at work deciphering who is going on what, ha ha! yay! i am taking my camera {um, duh.} so you will get to see some pics of that i'm sure. ;)
Haylee is having a tea party in her Kinder class tomorrow. she is stoked. she gets to dress ALL nice in her "sunday best" - which is her Christmas dress from last year and i'm curling her hair. she was telling me that her teacher was showing them good table manners and how she's going to taste different teas and cookies and then they are going to have a little dance. she said she is going to dance with Simon. i don't know who that is, but i thought that was cute. my little girl is growing up! she really wanted me to go to the tea party, which absolutely broke my heart...i mean it really did. :( so i told her after school and after i get home tomorrow we will have our own little tea party! she is going to show me everything she knows. ha ha!
tonight Haylee and i went to the mall to get Tim a father's day gift. it was fun having Haylee pick stuff out. she was excited about it!
i'm anticipating this weekend...we are probably going to see "Hulk" tomorrow night {Haylee even wants to see it!!} and Sat Haylee is going to see an agent {been awhile, we've been busy} and then Sat night Tim & I are going with Tim's sister, Nicole and her hubs Brian to see a comedy show at the Improv. we're going to see Jimmy Fallon. we'll see! i am sure it'll be great, we're going to dinner beforehand at Javier's. ;) yay!
i hope everyone has a super great weekend and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all of the dads out there...heck...Happy Fathers Day to mine if he's reading. Lord only knows. ;)~ peace!

um, can your dog not poop in my dog's yard?...
i hate to start this convo out with doo-doo, but let's get real here. who HATES it when you're finding other dogs poo'ing in your front yard? WHO is going to be the one cleaning it up? well...i'll give you a hint, it ain't the dog! LOL! just had to do a little mini-vent there. there seem to be a lot of dogs in our neighborhood and a few of them are not leashed {which I BELIEVE is illegal?} and i guess the grass is really greener on the other side for them because they just plant it wherever, whenever. kinda sick of it really. :P
on a lighter {and less feces filled} note -- today was a GOOD day! another good day! i just think we all have our minds set on Disneyland and with busy season being over {even though audit is still busy} - life and work is a little less stressful. for some! for me! ;) we had a baby shower for a pregnant girl at our company & it was fun. then i kinda farted around today - i did some work too. i hope this week stays this LIGHT.
i hesitated to blog about this, but i think i should maybe i can hold myself accountable....i have started {restarted i guess you could say} my Billy Blanks ULTIMATE Boot Camp workout. i started it last night and it HURT to walk today! then i did 20 mins of it again tonight. i am not looking forward to walking and sitting tomorrow, ha ha ha. i am VERY MUCH out of shape. i am not doing this to lose weight, because i feel like i am at a plateau and a good weight for my height. i'm very happy with my weight, i am not very happy that i have flab where muscle should be.....so i am sweatin' it out every day after work {now that i don't have school it's easier too}. so pray i get through this week, i just want to make a habit of working out. i think it's healthy. i am in the mood to feel the BURN lately. :) let's hope i keep that zeal.

reflection of the day
I often find myself sitting on the couch at night {sometimes, quite often actually WHILE watching tv} reflecting on the events of the day. So weird how each day is different, right? I mean, nothing ever happens the same, even if you try! You could have one perfect day and try to replicate it and it just doesn't work at all, no matter how hard you try. :)
Anyway I was just thinking of things that happened today and I came to realization that I had a great Monday! :) At work it wasn't too hard, the partners were all there and granted I did send one partner {the one I really shouldn't have!} the wrong direction thanks to google maps being wrong! But all in all, the day was good. I think I was a little distant today to some people, but I'm trying to not come on as strong {sometimes I do, to my friends} and I am trying to be a better influence on people than what I have been lately. Again, only human, meaning I mess up DAILY but I could try to not be as "human like" as I have been lately. ;)
I am SUPER excited because on Friday the company is taking us all to DISNEYLAND {well not us all, to mean family members but the whole company is going to Disneyland}. I am thrilled. I love Disneyland. Our passes expired in March and I've been sad ever since. I think we will renew our passes this summer, but anyway I am super excited to go out with my co-workers {which most of them are also my friends}. I am bringing my camera {{shocker shocker there!}}.
So all in all it was a good Monday and hopefully the whole week will fall into the same pattern!

balboa island
today was beautiful! we went to church {didn't go last night, lol} and that was just awesome. the pastor talked about miley cyrus and how people judge her because she's under such a microscope and it was just good to actually hear something positive about that young girl. especially since MY little girl adores her. ;) it was a great message actually. i took a lot of good notes which i may blog about later.
after church we went home, changed and headed up to my most FAVORITE beach ever!! newport beach - balboa island! i love love LOVE that beach. it's so laid back and it wasn't that busy today at all! it was about 75 degrees at the beach {it was about 85 at home, lol, only 10 mins from the beach and it's a 10 degree difference, amazing!}. we walked around and let haylee play on the beach playground and ate lunch at a local pizza parlor. it was great. what a wonderful afternoon. of course i brought my camera and i felt like a black & white photo shoot today. man i cannot WAIT to get my new DSLR camera though....wish wish wish. :)
until then i work it with my big kodak easyshare. ;) but i think i work it well...hee hee. given the equipment i have! LOL here are some pics i took...of course there are more on my facebook {so easy to upload on there!}. let me know what you think.
hope everyone had a GREAT weekend! tonight we also went swimming & one of our friends is over with tim to watch the laker/celtic game.....GO LAKERS!

if you blog it, they will come
I sit here and wonder WHO and HOW MANY people actually read my blog at times. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind if you don't comment but I just really wonder...you know? It's a little scary at times keeping an online journal - I can be so vulnerable on here - but at the same time I keep so much inside....lol! Just random thinking...
Anyway - well it's the WEEKEND baby! We started it off right already. Last night Tim & I double dated with our friends Todd & Ann. After work I picked up Haylee and dropped her off at Tim's dad's and mom's. Then I met Tim at home and we drove back near my work...ha ha! We went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and then saw the movie "Don't mess with the Zohan" and had Pinkberry afterward. It was a great ending to the day! The movie was HILARIOUS. It had some crude humor but sometimes I love that {in moderation, you know?}. It's the movie with Adam Sandler in it...it had some cheesy parts but it was so funny I was laughing ALOT. ;)
Today {Saturday} we are picking up Haylee {she spent the night} in a bit and we are going to take her to see "Kung Fu Panda". She is SOOO excited to see it too! We're going to the IMAX theater and she's never been to one of those, so she's in for a treat. :) I just know she's going to love it, it looks like a cute little movie. After that, if it's hot enough we are going SWIMMING. We love the fact we have a pool in our own backyard. Believe it or not it hasn't been THAT hot, so we've only used it 1-2 times {one time it was heated}. So hopefully it stays warm this weekend so we can utilize our pool. :) We will go to church tonight also...which I'm happy about as we haven't been in awhile. Someone was sick the week before we went to NY and then last week we were in NY, so I miss my church.
I hope you all have a super great weekend! love ya's ~ mel

don't let them rain on your parade
Sometimes I wonder what influences people to act the way they do. If one person actually makes a big deal of something and they get attention for it, others should not get ill towards that person...and if they do, maybe they're jealous? I don't know. I don't mean to start this off with a vent, but hey, let's face it...that's sometimes why I blog! ;)
I'm trying to think of anyone at work that would actually read this anymore and I can only think of a few and I don't mind them knowing {because they prob already do}. Anyway - I have been at my current job for 1 yr {as of yesterday}. I'm actually really excited because to be really honest this is the FIRST real job I've kept for so long since being in the military. Not that I am a loser but because I was a stay at home Mom for 3 yrs after Haylee was born {seemed like decades ago actually} and when I did go back to work it was part time at Crate & Barrel. I eventually went full time at Crate but really, that is not what I consider a "real" job. Retail sucks. :)
I decided to invite some friends out to lunch with me...not totally just to celebrate the fact I've been here for one FULL year, but I like the company too. :) I wasn't expecting anyone to buy my lunch {although someone did and that was really cool}, I wasn't expecting much at all as a matter of fact. Just lunch. And before I get into the negative let me just say it was a GREAT lunch. I mean that. I just had a good time. No, a great time. It was great. ;)
When I returned I found out that one lady, not naming names, was offended I didn't invite her. She was one of the people acting like it was stupid I was "celebrating" my 1 yr. She mentioned that she's been there for 5 yrs and no one ever offered to take her out, yadda yadda {waah}. No one offered me either, I just planned it. LOL. That's just how I am. If I want attention I'll ask for it, nothing more, nothing less. I just wished people would get OVER themselves. There were a few others who did the same crap...and it brought me down for a minute. But then I felt sad for them. I mean...they must not have the kind of friends/co-workers I do, right? Or enough gumption to outright just plan a LUNCH with a group of people....ok I'm done now. Sorry it took me a few paragraphs. It had to come out. I feel a little better now.
Now for a laugh. At least I'm laughing a little about it now. I have had a facebook for quite sometime. I never really used it for anything until a few months ago. Now I put ALL of my pictures on there. I mean, I had 9 albums on there. Note how I said "had"? Well I SOMEHOW...seriously I have no clue HOW...deleted my entire facebook account. I couldn't believe it. All of those pictures...and comments from people...gone. I'm really only sad about the pictures. Not really much else, LOL! I don't know...I'm kind of over it really. I emailed facebook help to see if they can recover it. I did a new account, but I would have to add all of my friends again and my pics and I'm really just kind of over it. If they can recover my old account that would be great. If not...well...I don't know. I'm so crazy {aka DITZY} all of the time, who knows. :) Hey...at least I can admit that.
Tim is downstairs right now yelling at the Lakers {or maybe the Celtics...or maybe the refs?}. It's so funny...I came up to give Haylee a shower and find some QUIET place to blog my thoughts. Ha ha! Why do guys get so goo-goo over sports? I don't think I'll ever understand.
Ok that's it for now....thanks for listening my dearest friends! Much love...and peace...and happiness....melissa

life is NOT always a box of chocolates...
...no matter what tom hanks said.
first of all let's address the new blog look! i am really thinking of just having my blog because it's really hard for me to keep up lately with two blogs plus i do put a lot of photos on facebook and i've just not been into blogging {journaling} much lately. so please bare {bear?} with me as i ponder the thought. we shall see. ;)
now - back to the chocolate covered life. sometimes i think it's just a breeze and then things come tumbling down. don't get me wrong, nothing big, but just a lot of little sequence of events and i just get all upset over a bunch of little things. life is so delicate and if i've learned one thing in life it would have to be just that. no matter how big and important YOUR problems are i can pretty much guarantee you that someone else has BIGGER, more IMPORTANT problems.
i felt like i've been having a crazy week and i have a little, coming off vacation it isn't always fun. but little mistakes and just things that some people say about me {that shouldn't phase me, but in a way cut me to the core}...i just classify it as a crazy week. but i discovered somethings about a few friends of mine...just things going on in their lives and i felt guilty a bit for feeling so down and out on myself. my heart just goes out to those friends {and you may or may not know who you are, but i'm praying for ya}.
anyway - this week has been a roller coaster of up and down for me. sometimes i feel happy and sometimes sad or angry or upset. but all in all things are OK! that's just what's been on my mind. ;) thanks for listening.
life has been good since vacation :) just busy with work and the norm. trying to guide our crazy little girl! she is truly a handful, makes me want to just have ONE. ;) we already have weekend plans for the next couple of weeks too...we like to keep it real. keep it busy. :P i'm so excited we're going to see Chelsea Lately this weekend! and tim and i have a triple date night with some friends on friday. yaay! i feel better blogging....maybe i ought to do it more often. peace love and happiness...keep a 'smilin.

our NYC trip :)
we had a LOT of fun in New York! we flew out on tuesday night - our flight was supposed to leave at midnight but got delayed until 2:30am!! so we slept at the airport for 5 hours {we got there early b/c Tim's brother dropped us off} then slept on the plane ride for 5 hours! we were all so excited! :))
we spent all day wednesday, thursday, friday & saturday in NYC. we flew out saturday {yesterday} night. our flight was supposed to leave at 8pm nyc time but got delayed 3.5 HOURS! we were so mad...LOL. we FINALLY flew in at 3am and got home around 4am this morning. i'm so tired!
our trip was just AWESOME. we ALL had such a wonderful time. we got to experience pretty much everything about New York, except the Statue of Liberty. :( we even had tix to go see it, but we over slept & just couldn't fit it in...so sad! the tix are good for 140 more days though...who knows, ha ha! in our trip we got to go up to the Empire State Building, Central Park & the Central Park Zoo, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, Little Italy & Chinatown, we took a 3 hour tour bus {on the top, it was fun!} - where we went through Manhattan, around Battery Park, the World Trade Center area {you cant go near it, it's BIG holes and they are rebuilding there} and Brooklyn, we also saw a Legally Blonde musical and we stayed IN Times Square. we walked probably 30 MILES this week! not even kidding! we didn't even take the Subway, everything was SO close. the blocks are small in NYC. :) Haylee just had a BALL. what a GREAT experience for her {for us too!}.
i made a slide.com slideshow of a lot of the photos....i took over 300 pics! if you have a facebook, i put THREE albums of NYC pics on there (totalling 150 pics!). so if you want to see more just go to my facebook account. ;)
enjoy! thanks for looking...this was just a GREAT experience for us! LOOOOOVED it!
