i realized i didn't talk much about Memorial Day...we had a great day on Sunday, that is when our family celebrated Memorial Day. :) everyone came over {benefits of having the "party house" with a pool!} and we ate and sun bathed and the kids swam. it was nice! my sis-in-law Kathy...who is great in the kitchen by the way...made the yummiest desserts ever. an orange sherbet and cream cake...it was frozen and it tasted like one of those push popsicles you would get as a kid from the ice cream truck! simply amazing. she also made some sort of pudding with pound cake and fruit and yum! all of the food was yum...even Tim's turkey burgers. ;)
there was a horrible car accident a few blocks from my house that day too. a little 9 year old girl died. i have been thinking about it all day, i really shouldn't have walked down to the scene of the accident because i saw the body there. it just makes me really sad for that mother. i can't even fathom losing a child. when i start to think about it i get depressed. and i try to think that God has a purpose, but my human mind cannot grasp the reasoning behind that. i mean, i don't think i would be saying it if it were my child that died. it's just really scary to SEE how fragile we really are. and how God protects us everyday from the exact thing happening. i drive down that road, that same spot practically everyday with Haylee in tow. i don't have names, but please pray for that family. my next door neighbor is an elementary school teacher and she taught the little girl.
on a lighter note...business is good! :) i mean, i feel secure in my job right now, i'm doing double duty while my co-worker is on vacation for 2 weeks! yeah. crazy is right. my job alone is enough for one person and her's really needs two people (i help her when she's working typically)...so yeah. but it's all good. at least i have a job and i feel like i'm good at it! i can't wait for the day i get to do photo full time though...my dream. it would just be a huge blessing if i could do that and then i wouldn't have to miss out so much of Haylee's life! being a stay at home mommy wasn't my cup of tea...but being able to go on field trips with her and pick her up after school is out would be nice. she misses me and i miss her. i love hanging out with her.
i can't wait for june 22-26th...i will be taking that week off of work and spending it ALL with Haylee. we have a lot of fun things planned like going to the beach for a full day {haven't done that in awhile}, having a picnic at the park, going to the duck pond, having play dates with friends, going to the science center, maybe i'll even take her to the zoo or somewhere. we will see! it's going to be fun, it's all she talks about now!
oh let's see...i have been reading {slowly...with everything else going on that i'm doing} "Eat, Pray, Love" and it's not at all what i expected. not sure what exactly i expected, but this wasn't it. ha ha! not to say it's not a good book...although the yoga and guru gibberish in the 2nd whole chapter is a little out of my league and i'm not sure i'm really into chakras and meditation and such...i mean, sure, i talk to God, but hmmm i don't know. not sure if all of that really falls into my line of belief. i know some about it, learned it when i went to massage therapy school. but anyway...i'm stuck in India in the 2nd chapter. hopefully i will make it through, i LOVED Italy...the 1st chapter! has anyone read this book? i guess i just thought it would be more inspiring, but i really love reading about the travel since i really haven't done much {any outside the U.S} myself. it's interesting in that aspect. we'll see!
this weekend we're going to San Diego to watch our friend Eric run his marathon. it should be exciting, i hope he makes it out ok! ;) i'm really glad i didn't run it w/him, like i initially wanted to. i can't imagine training for that and running it...i'm so out of shape {working on it though}. lots of pics i will be taking for sure. and i love San Diego, so pretty there!
ok...better get going. have to get Haylee ready for bed & maybe finish watching some baseball with Tim. nighty nite!

I haven't read that book, but I saw the author on Oprah. It was a little new-agey for me, but I have been semi interested in reading it ever since. Let me know how you like it when you're done (if you can get past ch. 2!).
