dreams & aspirations.

do you ever wonder if there's more to life than this? i know the grass isn't always greener on the other side, but i often find myself day dreaming of my life with a few tweaks. if you know me {if you are reading this blog then chances are, ya do}, then you know i'm a dreamer. ;) but i don't think the things i'm dreamin' are too far out of reach really. i'm a simple girl {not simple like dumb, but rather primitive?}. i don't ask for much {unless you ask Tim, j/k!}.

here are a few things i am dreamin' of lately...

...my photography business to be full time, a full fledged business and photo is all i do for work, so i can spend more time on what matters most in life {which is not necessarily photography, but,} like time with family, keeping the house tidier, quality time doing things i love and enjoy {can you just imagine that being confined to a desk isn't one of those things?! ;)}

...a house. i just want a house. with a yard. and i don't want to have to sell my organs to afford this house. three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a yard, i don't ask for much. maybe something built in this century, i'm not much of a fixer-upper person.

...both mine and Tim's family to live close to us. maybe not in the same city, or even the same state, but close enough that we can travel to see them or vice versa. airline tickets can be killer {tell me, how is it cheaper to fly from CA to NY than it is from CA to MO?}.

...that all being said, i don't think we'll be in CA forever. i just have a feeling. everything just costs triple the price it does pretty much anywhere else {maybe not NY}. so i am dreamin' for us to find the place we are supposed to be. i want to grow old and stay in one area forever. i'm not the type to move all over the place {i already did that...although i'm happy i did mom because i got to see most of the midwest and the south and learned a lot of things :)}. i want Haylee to have a best friend she's known since she was young. i don't have that.

i don't think these things are too out of reach. i know that in God's will they will happen, if it's meant to be. ;) i am happy right now, but i feel like i could be happier. i am blessed to have my job {even though it's not everything i've always wanted} because in this economy at least i have a job. i am happy and blessed to have the house we are renting because our landlord {which happens to be a GOOD friend's parents!} is just amazing. we couldn't have asked for a better person to rent from. my photography business is heading in the right direction and i think God is laying on our hearts about the perfect time and place to move. we will eventually get there. all in His time, not ours. i have to remember that.

ok...back to work, lunch break is over. :))

It is part of the human struggle to want better for ourselves and our families. It is good that your belief in God helps you to appreciate the blessings (and the bright side) of your current conditions. But remember to enjoy the journey! Such a cliche, but so true! I too appreciate all I am blessed with, but I am struggling right now with enjoying the process of getting from point A to point B in my life.
