...if i had to describe my weekend in one word that's what it would be.
i don't think we've had one quite as relaxing in awhile actually! Friday night was Halloween and my boss let me go 10 minutes early so i rushed home to pick Haylee up to get her ready. we were both so excited. i think i had her completely ready way before it even got dark. ;) she was ADORABLE and looked just as i imagined she would! all she said to me was she wanted to be a rock star so i just had this vision in my head and i ran all my ideas by her and we came up with her "costume". for pics see her blog.
we trick-or-treated a few blocks in our neighborhood with Haylee's friends. she has a girl that's on her soccer team a few houses down and another girl that was in her Kindergarten class from last year. it was fun! she was tired after about an hour of trick-or-treating, LOL! i remember going all night long with a pillowcase! Haylee's bag broke after long, so we decided to call it quits. ;) traditionally we went to Papa and Grammy's after trick-or-treating to show off her costume and to hang out. it was fun! also, traditionally, Haylee crashed after a couple of minutes of being at Papa and Grammy's and they offered to just leave her to let her sleep.
on Saturday morning i woke up early to go on a (what i thought was a) 5 mile hike in Laguna Beach (there are mountains in Laguna, believe it or not). it ended up being a 6.2 mile hike, but i LOVED it. i had never been hiking before and i went with a "pro" hiker, so that was interesting, but FUN. i have decided to go (hopefully) every week. we shall see, maybe not a 6.2 mile every weekend, HA HA! my legs are still complaining. ;)
after the hike Haylee had a game and she ROCKED it. almost made another goal, close but not this time. she only has one more game left. it's been a great season. we were supposed to have some friends come over on Sat night but Tim and i were both feeling the affects of allergy season and just wanted to have a family night, so we stayed home and made brownies and the three of us watched the movie "Elf" to get us in the holiday spirit! it was great!!
Today, Sunday, we went to church {it was AWESOME} - i LOVE LOVE LOVE my church. we had a guest speaker today, it was the author of the book "Choosing Your Faith"...Mark Mittelberg. he was great, i loved it. the band {our church band} even sang "Believe" by The Bravery and they were GREAT. ah...i love worship music, especially since our church worship leaders are AMAZINGLY talented. after church we went home and CLEANED. ugh. i finally got caught up on laundry...i was way behind. :) but not now!
we went shopping today to look at Christmas stuff {we're trying to get into the spirit can you tell?}. we bought some fake wreaths and some little ornaments so that Haylee and i can make some pretty holiday wreaths for our front doors. we're excited! we love to work on projects like that together.
this week was SUPER busy! i just cannot believe how fast it flew by. i'm super stoked because on Saturday i also called and reconnected with an old friend. she has a daughter Haylee's age. actually that's how we met, through our daughter's being in preschool. we used to hang out all of the time. i'm happy we get to meet up with her and her daughter this week too. it'll be nice to catch up, i haven't seen her since last Spring. we've just been busy and neither one of us is that great at keeping in touch. ;) but we won't let that much time go by again, the girls just get along so great and they've been friends for 3.5 years now. i'll take pictures, we will probably meet her at the stable to walk her horse. we'll see!
have a great week...
